The reactions are only increasing after the death of Olivier Mpunga, a young man beaten and killed in the facilities of the special services of the police. The video showing the tortures has made the rounds of the web. Outraged, the Prime Minister said he had instructed the Deputy Prime Minister of the Interior and the Minister of State for Justice to launch an investigation so that the perpetrators of these acts were subjected to the rigor of the law.

Shortly before the reaction of the head of government, several voices were heard on the same case. A very lively controversy is observed there. A sit-in at the call of MP Gecoco Mulumba is planned in the coming days to denounce this heinous act.

For his part, the Minister of Justice reassures that four people including the owner of the car given as a pledge are already in the hands of justice. They are the officer of the judicial police, the head of post, the owner of the vehicle and the receiver. The Deputy Minister of Justice A trial in flagrance is also envisaged.

As a reminder, Mr Olivier Mpunga was arrested in connection with the case of a car given as a pledge. The military prosecutor’s office was seized and some arrests were made in the ranks of the Police for reasons of investigation.
